Vishwakarma Mechanical Works
VMW is the parent company of Vishwakarma Group with the history dating back to 1935. It has been a constant endeavor of the legacy of VMW family to expand the horizon of business with a focus on professionalism, innovative aptitude, dedication and loyalty intact. Today, in a span of more than 78 years, VMW has not only grown vertically in terms of management structure but also horizontally in the diverse fields of ship repairs, ship salvage, fabrication, technical support to esteemed clients, operation and maintenance of slipway, owning and operation of barge and supply of material. Group companies have been created to de-centralize the operation and management for autonomous execution of identity.
Ourum Shipyard
A slipway of 350 m Tons winch capacity can cater vessels of having a draft of less than 2 m. The shipyard has achieved successful docking of more than 100 vessels since its inception in the group, a feat in itself. Our esteemed clients for docking are Indian Coast Guard, Border Security Force (Water Wing), Directorate of Lighthouse and Lightships, Customs and private operators of the boat.
Balaji Marine Works
An offshoot created to cater for the supply of material to industries, Indian Coast Guard and other esteemed clients. BM also supports VMW in the supplying of spares during the execution of their activities.
Vishwakarma Salvage Pvt. Ltd.
The company has been created to diversify the salvage and repair activities into other regions of the country. The theme is to gradually shift the focus of the salvage activities onto VSPL and registration of VSPL with International Salvage Union. VSPL will also be assisting in the day to day activities of VMW and will diversify in other sectors like the fishing industry, import of machinery spares, etc. The corporate office of VSPL has been opened and manned at Mangalore, a very upcoming port in the country.
